we're staying in nassau but would like to take some fun day trips, possibly to other islands. any recommendations for where we should visit and what company we should go through? <BR>thank you,<BR>Lb

There are several day trips you can take from Nassau including the Booze Cruise, snorkle trips, exuma powerboat, evening cruise, all of those can be booked when you get to New Providence. You hotel will have LOTS of brochures so you can choose what looks most fun.<BR><BR>For off island options, you can go to Eleuthera, Spanish Wells and Harbour Island on the Fast Ferry for a day. www.bahamasfastferries.com You might want to book before you go, but you probably will want to get there and see what the weather is like before you decide to go.<BR><BR>Bahamas Air is the interisland carrier and you could try a hop to Freeport, Abaco, Long Island, Cat Island. There are over 700 islands in the Bahamas most of them uninhabited, so lots to see.<BR><BR>If you decide on a trip to say Harbour Island, you might take the ferry one way and take Bahamas Air the other way, that way you get to see everything by air as well. Breathtaking by air the colors and the water is so clear.<BR><BR>Have a great trip and enjoy the Bahamas.<BR><BR>tweedy

Actually there are not that many companies offering trips, so you won't have a problem. Also when you get there, there are discount coupons at the hotel for trips and things so you can choose what looks best.<BR><BR>There's Blue Lagoon for snorkling, the booze cruise again a snorkle trip, power boat adventures and a few more.<BR><BR>When you get there, book what looks most fun. The power boat is $150pp and it takes you off shore by a VERY fast boat to the Exumas so you can see the large lizzards, and some amazing ocean sites and fish, rays, dolphins (sometimes) coral and the iguana. I think you can even feed them.<BR><BR>YOu really shouldn't have a problem.<BR><BR>Enjoy.

Tweedy.......what information can you provide on the day trips to Blue Lagoon Island? I believe that is where Dolphin Encounters is, correct? If you are not participating in that, is there anything else to do there? I read somewhere that there is a trip that includes lunch, non-motorized water sports, beach games, etc.... True?

I think this is the biggest bang for your buck and you’ll take great memories and photos home with you. I’ve been on Powerboat 3 times.
