Taxi from Sydney Airport to The Rocks...how long and how much?

We'll be arriving in Sydney on a Saturday morning, during the morning market in The Rocks neighborhood. We're staying at the Lord Nelson.

What should I expect of the cab ride in terms of cost & time...and how close do you think will they be able to get us to the inn itself?

Or should I be considering another form of transport?

Hi mr_go
Its a while since we were in Sydney, but we found there to be loads of shuttle busses and similar methods to get to the city. There are desks in the arrivals hall and most are really quite reasonable in price and possibly cheaper than a taxi.

Last time we were there we were able to pre book our pick up from the hotel too.

Sorry can't

The morning market only blocks a very small section of the very end of George street. Your cab will probably just go down Kent st to get to the Lord Nelson, so you can be dropped at the door.

From the airport on Saturday morning to Millers Point it's probably about 30-40 minutes, depending on the traffic. I'd guess it's about $40-50, it will also depend if you go through the various tollways (Eastern Distributor or the Cross City tunnel) that adds about $7 to the fare.

20-25 minutes.
$25-30.
He will take you to the door of the Lord Nelson.
A cab is the best way.
