Honeymoon on Tokoriki
Hello all!

My fiance and I will be honeymooning on Tokoriki Island in March 2003.

I would really like some feedback on this resort: firstly, we are staying in a deluxe beach bure - are these nice? Air conditioned?

What about the beach at the resort - is it nice sand/water - good for snorkelling?

And finally - the food! Do they have a lot of variety? How would you rate the menus?

Thank you so much for any responses!!

We went in May 2002 and absolutely loved it. The bures were big, clean and air conditioned. We stayed in the deluxe and the honeymoon bures, we preferred the deluxe because it was closer to the beach and the honeymoon deck was covered with sap from the trees above.
Beach was great, the waters were very clear when it wasn't raining. It rained for 15 min during some of the days and it would stir up the sand. We saw eels, black tipped shark, etc.
Food was delicious. I still drool over the bacon wrapped filet mignon. I would buy the meal plan, well worth it. My husband is a picky eater and he always found something that would please him.

Hi Teresa,

Congratulations on being a newlywed! Tokoriki is too expensive for my budget, but I was wondering if that part of Fiji is any good for people with bad backs. I know it's an odd question, but from what I read, its really hilly, lots of treks and long walks. Normally I'd love this, but after a car accident and continous lifting of little ones, my back is pooped. Any suggestions? By the way the pictures were lovely

Cheers

Sarah

Vanessa, you'll have a memorable time!

Sarah,
Tokoriki is on a private island. There was a trail that you can hike, which we did, but overall it was a very easy terrain. We also stayed at the Sheraton on Denarau Island (which is attached to the main island by a bridge) and the terrain there was very flat. I don't think you'll have any problems at all.
