Grand Hyatt or Park Hyatt ??
I am planning on staying one night at each in and out of the city. Can anyone tell me the difference in these two hotels? The Park Hyatt is a bit more expensive.Thank you kindly

Sounds like it is Melbourne. Both are excellent the Grand is older and has lots of shops in the complex. The Park is more modern in colours and decor and is my preference. Both are beautiful hotels you will not go wrong with either

Under the Hyatt's own rating system, the Park Hyatt is considered superior to a Grand Hyatt. This is, of course, reflected in the price. If you are talking about Melbourne, which I suspect you are because it has both, the Grand Hyatt has a more central location. However unless you want to spend all your time around the Southgate or Arts Precinct the extra three blocks walks shouldn't unduly bother you. It is still an excellent location, just not in the middle of town and its amenities are definitely superior. It's main restaurant has an excellent reputation.

We found an excellent rate of $160 us at the Grand Mecure for just one night on Dec29th, since we arrive at 5Pm and check out the next day I was hoping to keep it simple. Has anyone stay here ? You feedback is most appreciated..

We stayed a couple nights at the Park Hyatt Melbourne last month. The hotel is wonderful, and the room was superb. Interestingly, the hotel doesn't have a concierge.
As for location, the hotel is a few minutes out of the direct city center. However, it was a nice peaceful place to retreat to each night.

It was quite understandable since the Sydney Park Hyatt gets so much coverage on this and other forums!
I had an advantage in that we are about to stay at the Grand Hyatt as part of a Commonwealth Games package!!
