Grand Hyatt NYC or Doubletree Metropolitan?

I've got it down to the Grand Hyatt NYC or the Doubletree Metropolitan. Has anyone stayed in either of these and have any feedback?

They're not far from each other. What are your plans and how many of you are there? The Hyatt is a bigger, more glamorous hotel. The Doubletree Met. is a newer renovation. Are the prices the same? How did you decide on these 2?

Hmm, you really can't lose at either, they are both nice. Are the rates similar?

we stayed at Grand Hyatt in Aug. It was fine but not fabulous. Nice location, comfortable bed, clean and quiet, but small room, and no special service. Elevators are quick, though and that is important.

I narrowed it down to these two hotels b/c they were about the same price and the same class of hotel. The Doubletree is a little bit more expensive than the Hyatt. I'm leaning more towards the Hyatt and I also like that the Hyatt is connected to Grand Central Terminal.

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt in September for 3 nights. It is a very nice hotel with excellent service. I think they rooms were remodelled over the past couple of years. They are probably average size for New York, are nicely decorated and have very comfortable beds. As far as the location, it's about a 10-minute walk to Times Square, a trek that we made several times and felt safe.
