Very true Lori but if you can get those promotional $30 (net) tickets then it's a great deal! In the past I have gotten similar fares on the launching of new routes to Yangon (Air Asia) and Hanoi (Nok AIr) and had great holidays!

Just checked flights at the 1st, middle and end of october. With fuel charges, airport taxes and 20k baggage allowanced the cost of a return flight is $148-156. Still not bad when compared to Bangkok Air.
