Yankee Stadium

We will be attending a night game at Yankee Stadium and staying at the Clarion Fifth Avenue. Will it be safe to take the subway home after the game?

As I've stated every time this question comes up, there are few places in NY safer than the area around Yankee Stadium when a game is being played. Hundreds of uniformed and undercover police, big crowds, and fairly full trains.

Just try & make sure you get on an express train between Manhattan and the Stadium.

Of course it will be safe if you just get on the subway and not wander around areas you don't know. There will be hundreds of cops around the stadium. However, you might want to consider visiting the real baseball team in NY by taking the & to Flushing.

Has anyone gone to Yankee Stadium from Manhattan via the ferry? What is the best way to get to and from the ferry?

I took the ferry twice and although it was a nice way to get to the game, I was late for one game I went to and almost missed the last ferry back after another game! The ferries don't all make the same stops. Also, make sure you know which pier you are leaving from. My cabbie was taking me the wrong direction when I left from the Chelsea Piers and would have taken me to the wrong pier if I hadn't been paying attention!!! Subway from Manhattan is a piece of cake and very safe. Just be careful that you don't overshoot the stop for Yankee Stadium with the rush hour train on the way to the game. Can't remember which line but you have to transfer to a local which I did not know and neither did alot of other fans on the train till we went past the stadium!!!
