Wicked in SF this Weekend - Attire Question
This is a silly question, but I really don't know the answer...
We are going to SF for the first time this weekend and have tickets to a matinee of Wicked at the Orpheum.
What is normal attire for a matinee at this venue? We will most likely leave our North Beach hotel in the morning to go around the city and won't return before the performance.
We are trying to figure out how dressed up we should be for this event.
Thanks for any help!

Gee, what a letdown. I thought your title meant you were going on a wild weekend in San Francisco and were looking for suggestions on what constitutes provocative clothing!
Now that I've read our posting in full and have calmed down.....I think the correct answer is "neat casual."

I'd wear green, too, as Patrick suggested. I read Wicked the book about a year ago - EXCELLENT! Who would have thought to give the Wicked Witch of the West a real personality before her house-bound demise? I think you'll really enjoy the performance from the wonderful reviews I've read, jlh370. Whatever you wear, be comfortable - no one will see you as you watch the matinee anyway.
If in doubt, take a jacket/tie (nice necklace/scarf for women, fyi) but leave it in the car for easy retrieval in case you feel compelled to dress it "up" before formally entering the matinee.
