Which Vegas hotels have "moving sidewalks"?

I think I either read somewhere or heard that some of the Las Vegas hotels have people movers (or moving sidewalks) to help transport visitors from the sidewalk into the hotel. Since I'll be traveling to LV with a friend who has difficulty walking, and if this is true, which ones have them?

We "rode" moving sidewalks at the entrance to Venetian, which eliminated lots of steps, but once you get inside they no longer had them.

Excalibur has them connecting to Luxor, but you can also ride the free tram from Excalibur down to Luxor and then on to Mandalay Bay.

Those are the only ones I can remember seeing. We weren't of course in every square inch of every hotel so there could be more.

If I remember right, there is also a moving walkway from the sidewalk into Bally's, and also one from the sidewalk into the Mirage.

There is also the new monorail system which recently opened, to get you between casinos.

You might also consider spending some time downtown - the casinos are very close together on Fremont Street, so might be easier to navigate.

The hotels listed above are correct in terms of having the moving sidewalks, but realize that the only reason those hotels have them is because their entrances are much further back from the street. Overall the fact that they have moving sidewalks doesn't really mean they are any more convenient or less walking overall. Many hotels without them: Paris, Aladdin, MGM Grand for example are perhaps even less of a walk, moving sidewalk or not.

Patrick makes a good point...

Adding to his list of properties close to the sidewalk, I would add NYNY and Monte Carlo.

Also, sometimes the moving sidewalks only "move" one way - that is, into the casino. Caesar's had a moving sidewalk to take you into the casino but not out. I don't know if this is still the case, however.

Agree with the other posters - moving escalator or not you'll find most hotels have made things very easy for everyone to find their way in - getting out is another thing!

Also consider the monorails / trams that run
between
a)The Mirage and Treasure Island
b)Bellagio and Monte Carlo
v)Excalibur - Luxor and Mandalay Bay
d)MGM and Bally's

I noticed that the tram from MonteCarlo was not in operation last week. I'm not sure if it was operating from Luxor to Mandalay Bay, etc. And the one behind Bally's, etc. has been replaced with the monorail that costs $3.00 and requires more walking than just going from hotel to hotel along the sidewalk.

Thank you for all the great replies. I will definitely print out this thread and take it with us.

Please help me on the following ...

We will be going from our room at the Aladdin to Caesars Palace for the Elton John concert, possibly stopping at the Cheesecake Factory to eat beforehand. Which route or method would require the least walking:
1. taking a taxi from Aladdin to Caesars?
2. taking the monorail from Aladdin to somewhere (?) and walking across the street to Caesars?
3. walking directly from Aladdin to Caesars?

My friend is looking into the possibility of renting a motorized scooter. Is it wise or practical to use these outside the hotels on the street? (She can walk, but not too fast and probably not more than a few blocks.)

Thanks for any suggestions.

We just got back from Vegas and stayed at Paris, which is right next to Aladdin, but even though Caesars is right across the street, beside Bellagio, it is a hike even if you dont have difficulty walking. You can't take the tram in any way that would benefit you, I would definitely take a cab, we always walked over, but with the crowds I cannot imagine using a motorized scooter. We were absolutely amazed at the people pushing strollers!!

Ballys has a big moving sidewalk out front that runs from the street into the casino. Also, there is some elavators at some of the bigger intersections (strip/flamingo) that will take you up/down from the pedestrian bridges.

I think a cab is your best option. The monorail could drop you offf at the Flamingo but it is at the very back of the property. You would have to navigate through the entire place, out on the street, up the crosswalk, down the crosswalk and hopefully the moving sidewalk is working at Caesars, then through that place...Yikes, it is a hike!
