Yes, you are wrong as Bally's and Excalibur are on opposite sides of the strip. The trams only go up one side of the strip. Frankly by the time you go to the very back of most of the properties to get a tram, then all the way to the front of the next property, you might have well just walked from the front of one to the front of another.

As of June, the only tram still running was from Mandalay Bay to Excalibur (Luxor included). All others were either in repair or closed pending operation of the strip/downtown tram system due to open in 2004/5. I agree with Patrick - the trams as they existed until recently, were a wash.- for one could just as easily move among casinos via walking. The new system might be expected to allow one to traverse from say, the MGM to Treasure Island more easily than walking, but until it is in and tested, who really knows?

So, all trams are down? I know the one from Monte Carlo to Bellagio is down. Is the MGM to Bally's down as well?
We actually do take the trams a lot when we fly to Vegas. I'd much rather walk INSIDE a casino and take the tram, than walk OUTSIDE on the strip in sweltering heat during the summer. We usually stay at Bally's, so if we wanted to go anywhere, we're pretty centrally located.

The tram between Exacaliber, Luxor & Mandalay Bay is working, as is the tram between Treasure Island and the Mirage. The one between Monte Carlo & Bellagio is closed for construction in the area. I don't know about one between MGM & Bally's - I never go to those places and didn't know they even had a tram on that side of the Strip - I heard them talking about building one on the news a week or two ago, but am not sure there is one running yet.

Was in LV in July, the MGM-Bally's is down. It will be connected to the one that runs to the Hilton. We stayed at Venetian and and saw that it comes in behind there and the station looks like it's behind Harrahs. Don't know if there is another stop closer to the Sands convention center.
The MB-Excalibur and Mirage to TI were still running.
