Which hotel is best?

My friend and I are traveling to Scottsdale Easter weekend for 5 days - mostly to get a nice tan, so a nice pool is IMPORTANT. We have three hotels in mind, and since I have read different reviews, can't decide which one to pick: the choices are: Scottsdale Plaza Resort, La Posada, or Chapparel Resort. Can someone give me some advice? Thanks!

Check out the Westin Kierland. The pools are gorgeous, $ include a lazy river.

That hotel looks really nice, but unfortunately, not in my budget - something between $100-$150 per night! Any other suggestions?

Not sure what kind of prices you're getting for that time period, but here's what I know. The Chapparel appears to be a former Embassy Suites. I've never stayed, but saw it from the outside and it looks OK. Not really a resort, but has larger accomodations & big breakfast included. Right near Scottsdale Rd. so convenient to everything. La Posada is a little more remote, and has a beautiful pool area with a waterfall. Don't know anything about Scottsdale Plaza.

I strongly suggest you do a search on this site, as there have been many reviews of Scottdale hotels, including a fairly recent one, I believe, of Chapparel.

Also, in the future, you might want to think about using a more specific heading for your posts in order to get more responses. Even assuming that you thought you were posting under an Arizona heading (which is not the case--everything just shows up on the US forum), AZ is still a pretty large state, and no one would have any way of knowing what city you're referring to. Good luck.

I just purchased package airticket and two nights at Hyatt Regency Resort at Scottsdale, with 10 pools ... for $ 297 each ... try www.unitedvacations.com they are always the cheapest ... if you plan your vacation ahead of time.

Why don't you stay at the Scottsdale Resort Club. This is a timeshare with all of the amenities that will save you a great deal of money in dining out.
Each of the condos overlook the pool and there is an athletic club on the premises that you can likewise use for tennis, swimming etc.
It is like a home away from home and very convenient to the main hangouts of Scottsdale.

I will try to stay on task and not suggest prperties that are clealy outside of your budget. (I understand budgets). The Chapparal is more of a hotel than a resort. The pool is a big rectangle, there are tennis courts on the property.
La Posada, is more of a resort. Actually it is a beatiful location; up against Camelback. If you have a car it is equal distance from the Biltmore area and Scottsdale. According to what others have written, it might have seen a bit of wear; the pool is very much of a resort style, with waterfall etc. If you are interested in laying out and enjoying the pool primarily, I think la Posada is the better choice. Especially if you have a car.
I don't know anything about the scottsdale plaza. hope this helps
