Family of 4 (children 9 and 12) are planning summer trip to Scottsdale and vicinity. We will mix sight seeing and outdoor activiites with some relaxing around the hotel pool activitires. Therefore, I would be greatful if you could recommend a resort $150 to 225 per night range, nice gorounds and not isolated location. Is there such a place?

I vote for the Hyatt Regency at Gainey Ranch.

The Hyatt is a great choice. I would check the Arizona listings in this forum and you'll get lots of suggestions.

The Sunburst Resort sounds just like what you are asking for. Nice grounds, nice pool and a great location, not far from Old Scottsdale or the Fashion Square Mall. The Desert Botanical Gardens are great!

Under $225 you can stay most anywhere during summer.
I know the Biltmore has had great rates, and the Princess is available well within that range.
No need to scrimp and go for anything less than the top resorts during summer. (Phoenician is doing pool work, so beware).
