Where should we go in Feb.06? Suggestions please!

On Valentine's Day 06 we'll celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We're "young" at heart (mid forties) and can't decide where to go for our anniversary.

Money is a little tight - son is going off to expensive college, however, I do want to go somewhere. We spent our honeymoon in Acapulco, but I am not sure we want to repeat that one.

Any suggestions? We just came back from Hawaii, so that's out. We love the beach and warm weather vacations. No snow, please!

Would love to use our United Airlines miles to travel - we have over 250,000 miles to use!

How much time do you have? If I had that many miles to burn, I'd look at United's (and United's partners) destinations and pick the farthest warm destination. Maybe somewhere in the South Pacific (Tahiti, Moorea etc), or Australia since it will be summer there. I'd also sign up for a hotel rewards credit card and start earning points towards a free night or two.

We're going to Puerto Vallarta in February. We are using United FF points. We're staying at a semi-isolated spot called Majahuitas Resort south of PV. You can only get there by taking a boat. It sounded like the perfect place to go veg for a while in the middle of winter.

Hi Ten,

Las Brisas Resort in Ixtapa might be up your alley. (I have a trip report on the Latin America board I could pull up for you if you are interested, just let me know).

Happy 25th Anniversary! Tiff

Hi again Ten,

As long as I am awake and might not check here tomorrow, I thought I would go and find the trip report thread for you, just in case.
Here is it:

Hi tennislvr1, I too was thinking of the westcoast of Mexico. That was always our favorite getaway in February when we just needed to escape the world and relax. Happy 25th Anniversary!
