We are planning a trip to NYC. Been there for Macy's parade (brrr!) and been there in Sept. I assume somewhere between those times is when the leaves in Central Park change colour. Any suggestions when?

Of course, is this dependent on the weather, too?

We live in the pine forest of northern Canada and the one thing we miss is the foot of crunchy leaves all over the ground in the fall. I think it was in the movie "Autumn in New York" where the couple are walking hand-in-hand through the bright orange leaves in Central Park.

I'd guess mid to late Oct., depending on weather. If you decide to visit then, I'd go with mid-Oct., because by then there certainly will be some color, and it would be too early to have the trees lose the leaves yet.

I'll plan for the Central Park time there. If the Greenwich Village leaves are feeling ready and want to change, then I'll watch for them too.

The Greenwich Village leaves might change a little later.They like to take their time about change.They really like things to stay the way they are.
