NYC - October Hotel Prices

My husband and I had to reschedule our trip from August to October. I just went on-line to check out hotel prices and notice that there are not many deals (hotels.com, hoteldiscount.com, etc.) Is October a bad time to visit the city?? Please let me know your thoughts.

Huge convention and conference month for the city plus great weather equals many many people. Book a cancelable backup now. Prices should drop dramatically about 30-60 days before you arrive and you can rebook cheaper then.

One other thing is that I would forget trying to arrive October 31st as the NYC Marathon is November 2nd and that will sell out the city.

October is probably the BEST month to visit NYC, hence the dearth of deals. I'd suggest calling directly. Good luck.

All of the previous posters are correct. October is one of the most popular months for conventions, etc., in New York. So, there won't be that many bargains.
Still, don't be discouraged. As one poster already said, it's a great time to be here!
