Better late to the thread than not at all! It's 1 am and I'm drinking some chardonnay. The only travel this weekend is around the house to empty out the living room for painting. OK~maybe to the paint store for yet another sample jar. God, I thought we'd figured this out but the light keeps changing and the colors go from perfect to ghastly! Decisions decisions decisions!
In two weeks ( with a big thanks to R5 for some dining tips) we're off to Point Reyes for SO's 53rd!! I'm packing a treasure chest for the "non-teen". This would be:champagne, a fine, fine Pinot noir, beach chairs, binoculars(for the shore birds), bath salts, bday presents galore and my own copy of "The Glory of It All"-an SF tell all on the social set of the 70's. I spent many an episode of Tales of the City" trying to figure out which socialite was so vicious. I'm about to find out
Next weekend is Napa with relations for Papas' Day. We'll bring the poison and lots of it.

Hey Indy, if you hit the horseradish festival, let us know how it was. I grew up 30 miles or so from Collinsville. I knew they grew a lot of horseradish near Belleville. But knew nothing of the horseradish festival in Collinsville until just recently when I read an article about it in the Chicago Trib.

gyppielou, thanks!
My sympathies on your loss.
And good luck with that 60 miles. I suspect you're gonna do just fine!
Thanks to Statia and Scarlett for your kind words as well.
My husband sees the hematologist Monday afternoon. So at least we're starting to move forward. The period from hearing the scan results Wed eve until getting the appt yesterday was the worst. It was like standing still in the midst of some awful nightmare. With a little luck, by Monday evening we'll at least have a little better idea of what we're up against.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I have to say again how helpful this board has been. The kind words, the survivor stories...Thank you all so much.
