It's gone a bit "upscale" (read: now has toilet paper in restrooms) but Boss Oyster in Apalachicola, FL. Looked for years on the verge of falling apart, neither servers nor oyster shuckers had teeth nor manners, seagulls & crows would fly in and walk on your table and snatch the Saltine crackers, but the raw oysters, po boys, cooked three dozen different ways oysters, shrimp, what a feast for the belly though not the eyes!

Gosh...there are too many to list....living in San Francisco I have a treasure trove of great places to eat. I sometimes get a little irked at some of the more outlandish or overpriced places, and I tend to focus and enjoy the smaller places that have much more flavor and soul, IMO.
There is Alhambra on 16th street---I love their bengan bharta---very spicey! great indian food
There is Taiwan restaurant on clement and 5th and tons of dim sum restaurants up and down clement that I just adore!

No no no...
Cheezborger, Cheezborger, Cheezborger...or that's what their sign says.
We still stop by almost every trip right at lunch time and laff are arses off.
Billaaay and Pammer...my first thought too..only because The Midnight Inn on Molokai burned down years ago.
B'bum...SIL and her hubby ate at The Hitchin' Post last trip up to Ore. Likes it.
We stopped at another "little dump" in Weed called Big D's BBQ.
Some of thee best "Q" I've ever scarfed.

I doubt it's still there, but I loved Gino' Italian restaurant in Spokane Washington(home to toothless truckers if memory serves) years ago.
I remember a petite friend who would order the Tour of Italy( a three enree combo) and wolf down every bite. It was homemade and the salads were always a fresh and delicious prelude to Friday night shenanigans.. Once after wine, I mentioned the atmosphere, to which she haughtily asked "WHAT atmosphere"?.
It is also the place where an unevolved friend ordered a "peckeroni pizza" once.. ahh memories..

Hi Kal, I think you mean Dowrellios, turn off at Crockett, go down to the waterfront west of the bridge, climb over the train tracks. Restaurant right on the wharf? I use to have breakfast there at least once a week ages ago..what a dump, lol, but good food. Haven't been there in ages, think I heard it is more of a restaurant now but not sure. There is also the restaurant just west of the bridge, on Hwy 40 called the Dead Fish. It overlooks the Carquinez Straight, maybe that is the one you are thinking of?
The place I was referring to is Clift's Pleasant View. And it does have a pleasant view if you look out the windows versus around the interior lol.
Hope you two have recovered from your colds!
