Westin's website doesn't make it look too swank. In fact, the sample room looks like a mid-level Marriott (but you have a Westin Heavenly Bed-- oooohhhhh...!). You're just off the Strip, and you got a great rate, so what the hell-- you should be just fine.

I stayed there on Nov 12-14 (about one week after opening). There was still lots of construction and it started at 0700 (not real good when you have a hangover). The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The lobby is small and has a small casino. I dod not eat at the reastaurant. the walk to the strip is 5 minutes. This is more like a typical Westin than one of the megaresorts in Las Vegas. It is a very acceptable property with a standard Westin feel.

2 reviews at TripAdvisor so far. Both very negative.
I watched the ongoing gutting of the Maxim (the casino which is now the Westin) and was a little surprised (and disappointed) that Westin didn't put more money into this place. Looks to me like they're simply trying to take advantage of the location close to the strip and likely bargain basement price they paid for the Maxim. This Westin looks to be a re-tread attempt at making a quick buck cheaply.
