Westin Hotel Vegas

This hotel just opened in November on Flamingo and is rated as 4 star. I just booked it for $55 on priceline and wonder if anyone has stayed here yet

I was just in Vegas. I didn't stay there, but I really wasn't impressed by the outside of it or the location (kind of dumpy area). Maybe, the inside is fantastic. Good luck, have fun!

Westin's website doesn't make it look too swank. In fact, the sample room looks like a mid-level Marriott (but you have a Westin Heavenly Bed-- oooohhhhh...!). You're just off the Strip, and you got a great rate, so what the hell-- you should be just fine.

I stayed there on Nov 12-14 (about one week after opening). There was still lots of construction and it started at 0700 (not real good when you have a hangover). The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The lobby is small and has a small casino. I dod not eat at the reastaurant. the walk to the strip is 5 minutes. This is more like a typical Westin than one of the megaresorts in Las Vegas. It is a very acceptable property with a standard Westin feel.

Don't do any gambling there... the slot machines are rated as the tightest in town.

There are some reviews already on biddingfortravel.com

2 reviews at TripAdvisor so far. Both very negative.
I watched the ongoing gutting of the Maxim (the casino which is now the Westin) and was a little surprised (and disappointed) that Westin didn't put more money into this place. Looks to me like they're simply trying to take advantage of the location close to the strip and likely bargain basement price they paid for the Maxim. This Westin looks to be a re-tread attempt at making a quick buck cheaply.

We arrived yesterday and were surprised to know there's a new Westin property opposite Ballys. The Westin doesn't look attractive from the exterior: plain, boxy building painted in a peach color.

Did you check out the inside for us? 8-P Seems like everyone has something to say about the outside but what about whats going on inside.
