Weight Loss Spa

Just wondering if anyone knows of a real good one, the price reasonable, and they plan everything for you, like exercise and meals, and maybe a few massages. They is one that I have read about called "Ashram" in California, but they are booked till next year, and that is the kind of spa I am looking for. - sort of like a boot camp, but not as hard as the army's version of a boot camp,

Have you looked at Red Mountain Spa?

http://www.redmountainspa.com/

I have not been, but one of my co-workers went alone last year. She had a great time and met some great women with whom she still keeps contact.

I've been searching for the one in Vermont a friend went to and raved. She lost a lot of weight there and continues to do so. Finally found it:

Minnie: I know I am going to sound like a PR person (but I'm not!) but the spa you are looking for is the Oaks in Ojai, California.

I've spent four months there in the past two years and I can't rave enough about it. You are given three meals and three snacks a day that add up to 1,000 calories and it is really delicious! They have exercise classes from 6:30 a.m. to early evening that cater to all levels of fitness. I especially like the pool classes but there is something for everyone.

Though I'm not really into massage, they have every kind of massage and body treatment (some included if you book one of their packages). There is a nurse on duty who can monitor your weight loss and help with your diet. There are informative lectures and cooking demonstrations and great speakers on a variety of subjects.

The Oaks is mentioned every year in Conde Nast Traveler as the best bargain spa and it is - much more reasonable than most of the others.

The best thing about it is all the gerat women (there are some men but it has a female vibe) that you meet from all over the world. It's like a giant summer camp where everyone lets their hair down in a very laid-back atmosphere - not "snotty" like some other spas I've been to.

The staff is wonderful - very helpful and supportive. You can relax the whole time or make it into a "boot camp" like I did - the people there genuinely want to help you reach your goal.

They have a website - www.oakspa.com and the phone is 1-805-646-5573.
