Weekend Trip to AC - WHAT DO I WEAR?!?!

I'm taking my first trip to Atlantic City and have NO IDEA what to wear or pack. I'm a Dallas native and usually wear "dressy" jeans and heels, etc. Please advise what I should wear (and pack) for this weekend trip!!!

Thank you so much!!!

Just to be clear, are you talking about THIS weekend?

If you are going to AC,make sure you stay on the boardwalk...do not stray! They spent a billion dollars on the Boardwalk and 2 dollars on the rest of the city...
dressy jeans and heels should suffice...

What you have is fine - pretty much anything is fine in Atlantic City. I agree with the previous poster - stay on the Boardwalk. It is neat there - if you like casinos, it's kind of a smaller, cheaper Las Vegas - but enjoyable, none the less... There is another stip of casinos (not on the boardwalk) that is a drive away, but they're all bunched together, just in another location (about 4-5 miles, if I remember right).... are you going to have a car?

Anything goes...you'll see everything from slobs to snobs.

For nicer restaurants, dress nicer.

Be sure to check forecast to finalize your packing, and plan for cooler - it's on the ocean...

Inside the casinos, anything goes. The fancier the restaurant, the bigger your jewelry should be.

If you plan to walk the Boardwalk from casino to casino, bring a warm coat, gloves, and something to cover your head. It can be quite cold and windy out there.

There is now a very nice collection of shops, restaurants and outlets running between the boardwalk and the bus terminal. I think AC is really trying to clean things up in some areas off the boardwalk.

Note also, no matter when you're going, the ubiquitous "layers" are recommended. Indoors everywhere tend to be overheated or overcooled.

You may want to re-think the heels unless you'll be comfortable walking all over on hard/often slick surfaces.

Beachgirl - it would help to know your age and where you are staying?

'Dressy' jeans and heels should be fine. Are you wearing a top, too? ;-)
There really isn't a dress code in the casinos or on the boardwalk. Some of the nicer restaurants and clubs have dress codes (just like they do in Dallas), but you can easily wear jeans the entire trip if you want.
I get the impression that if you wear whatever you would normally wear, you will be fine.

Have Fun,
Mark

AC is not as bad as it used to be. A couple of blocks off the boardwalk, they knocked down blocks of slums and now it's a nice outlet mall (so my wife tells me. I've never been in stores myself :.) )
