Kinda agree with Stellaluna, but would say about the same as February (unpredictable). Cold, Rainy or Sunny and warm, it is a rol of the dice. Go North to Sonoma and it is more predictably nice.

Probably foggy, but it can make a big difference what part of the city you are in.It can be warm and sunny in the Union Square area, but further west in the Sunset district it will be 10 degrees cooler with fog and mist.

In one word, COLD. Average highs are generally in the low 60's during the day, and the fog usually sticks around for most of day. If you are lucky you might see some sun for a few hours between 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM. Going up to Sonoma or Napa would be much nicer in June. The summer is one of the worst times to visit SF.

I've also heard that Mark Twain never said that, it was somebody else.

FYI, the reason is so dang cold in June in SF is because it gets so hot in the central valley. The hot air pulls in the cold sea air, and you get fog and wind. In other words, Sacramento sucks.

Yep, while Sacramento and the rest of the central valley are roasting, SF is nice and cool - jeans, sweatshirts, and windbreaker weather. Layers are important as someone else pointed out that the temperatures can cary quite a bit through out the day and through out the city - depending on fog and wind conditions. Temperatures are generally in the low 60s, but you might get some sunny days in the high 70s, even low 80s. Also, the fog generally burns off for a few hours during the day and the views with the fog rolling in and out over the bay are great. Rain is very unlikely in June though. California generally gets rain off and on from about November through April. The rest of the year, rain is rare.

When you get off the plane (especially if a domestic flight) you will see who is from San Francisco and who is not. Those that do not live in San Francisco are wearing t-shirts and shiver when they leave the airport! A very light jacket or sweater is enough, but you need something.

Candlestick Park was one of the few places where the first few innings of a game you could get a bad sunburn and the last few you could get frosbite.

I kinda miss the ol' dump for baseball.....NOT!
