Dmraburn,

I have provided a link to Tripadvisor.com with travelers' comments about the Washington Jefferson Hotel.

A very good friend of mine stayed there and said the rooms are REALLY small. Good location.

Thanks. Think we will move to Plaza 50. We stayed there several years ago and know the rooms are very spacious.

Recently, and for a long time, there has been a cluster of striking employees outside the building, with a giant blow-up rat. I think they may be gone now, though. The block is "mixed", with 2 lovely restaurants, some charitable organizations, and the WJ Hotel, trying to look decent and rehabbed. I'd look a little longer--you can find something better, on a nicer block, for a reasonable price.
