Does anyone have a recent experience with the Hotel Madison? we are looking for a hotel for a long weekend in October.

City/State? There are Madison Hotel locations in different places!!

If it's the Madison Hotel in NYC on East 26th (or 27th - can't recall which), it has a reputation as a good budget property. A bit spartan but clean, safe and fairly convenient location. Do a forum search for either Hotel Madison or Madison Hotel - it has been discussed on a number of occasions.

Ah, the Madison in D.C. is wonderful! I think you'll enjoy it. I stayed there 5-6 years ago when it was a Sheraton and was very pleased. Sorry I can't help you with a "recent" stay but I can't imagine any owner would let such a grande dame slip so much.
