Update on Restaurants in Wailea/Kihei???
Staying at the Fairmont Kea Lani for 8 nights next week. Went for four years straight, but haven't been for the past 5 years. Our favorite restaurants back then were:
Roy's
Joe's Bar and Grill (at Wailea Tennis Club)
Nick's
Sensei
Haiiimaile General Store
KKO (although I think that might be gone??)
Anyway, just want to confirm that these places are still there and still good. Also, any recommendations for other good places, particularly less expensive, but willing to hear about both. We are traveling with our teens and can take them anywhere. BTW, have been to Humu loved it the first time but subsequently underwhelmed.
Thanks for your help!!

Maui Tacos is always good and cheap..
There is a pretty good food truck at the south end of Makena beach.
West Maui/Napili has the Gazebo for great Macadamia pancakes and Hula Grill is fun with feet in the sand for lunch at Whaler's Village.
Favorite for breakfast is Plantation House at Kapalua golf course for the best Ahi Benedict and its only $13!

The KKO in So. Kihei is now Fred's Mexican (downstairs) and Moose McGillicuddy's (upstairs). Not that great, IMO, but your teens might like them.
The places you list from your last visit are all outside my budget's comfort zone. Here are three of my less expensive favorites in the area:
FIVE PALMS BEACH GRILL at the Mana Kai, on the border of Kihei/Wailea.
Beautiful oceanfront setting. www.fivepalmsrestaurant.com
CAFE O LEI, upstairs in the Rainbow Mall. No view, but pleasant ambiance and truly wonderful food www.cafeoleirestaurants.com
LULU'S, upstairs in the back of the Kalama Mall. Casual sports bar atmosphere. Family friendly- open air all around. It's my tradition to go here my first night whenever I'm on Maui. I order the Aloha Burger, breath deeply of the tropical air, and think how lucky I am to be back on my favorite island. www.lulushawaii.com

Trip April 09:
We went to Sensei and liked it for ahi altho it was nearly empty.
Roys is still there but the menu/prices overpowered us.
Stella Blues is nearby, popular, reasonable.
Mama's Fish House is a special treat.
We liked Cafe O'lei - Kihei. Very good, moderate prices, very busy. Second floor at 2439 S Kihei Road. We went twice. I now see that Barbara liked it too.
Enjoy.
