Turks and Caicos

Anybody been there? Was it fun, was there more to do than lay in the sun?

Just a friendly suggestion, but you might get a better response rate by posting this on the Caribbean board.

Take care,

We have stayed there twice. First of all we travel with 14 people ages 6 to 60 it is a family get together. Just so you know that. The first time we stayed at the all inclusive (it was allegro) has changed names since then. The second time 3 years later we rented a house and 2 bungalows on the beach. In fact it is the house you can see from the snorkeling trail.(if you go you will know what I mean). It is the most beautiful water, anywhere I have been and I am lucky enough to have been to 10 different islands. There is not much to do at night outside the hotel. The island is quiet. That is not what we were looking for though. I have tons of information, if you want more I would be happy to write again. Pappy was right about going to a caribbean board.
Have a nice day.

There's not really much to do there other than dive, snorkel or lie in the sun, but for those of us for whom that is great, T&C is near nirvana.

The water and beach there at Grace Bay are some of the most stunning I have ever seen. (I am a beach collector.)

Unless you are a diver (we are) T&C does not really an active vacation make, but it is perfect for decompressing and a totally stress-free vacation.

Not much shopping or nightlife (except for the local variety, which is quite fun), but some really excellent restaurants and pristine reefs.

I love T&C because is is the definition of 'low key'.
No one harrasses you, either.
Not much to do, but sometimes that's nice.

I went to T&C a few years ago and stayed at Club Med. They have the trapeze there and a lot of other things you can sign up for. Some cost and some are free. I am not a sun person but it was wonderful. I have never seen such a beautiful beach or water. It is turquiose in color! I would go back in a heartbeat!

I was just up in CAnada and read that Turks and Caicos may become part of Canada! It was a complicated article with all sorts of scenarios on how this would be accomplished.

Vivi,

I read that too. In fact, it was on the front page of Sunday's LA Times.

Maybe this post should be moved to the Canada board.
