Transit Advisory for Thursday, November 22, 2018 (Thanksgiving Day)

For those who will be enjoying their Thanksgiving in NYC this year, please be aware that the various transit systems that serve NYC and vicinity will be operating on modified schedules on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 22.

NYC Buses - Sunday schedule

NYC Subway - Sunday schedule
- B train will not be operating. Use C train for local stops along Central Park West, use D train for B train stops on 6th Av, for stops in Brooklyn use the Q train (transfer available from D train at 34th St-Herald Square).
- M train will operate from Metropolitan Av in Queens to Delancey-Essex St station in Manhattan (M trains may be extended via the F line to 63rd St/Lexington Av and then via the Q line to 96th St-2nd Av). Note: During late night hours the M operates between Metropolitan Av and Myrtle Av-Broadway.
- W train will not be operating. For local stations in Manhattan use the R. For stations on the Astoria line, use the N train.
- 5 train will operate between Dyre Av (Bronx) and Bowling Green (Manhattan). For Brooklyn service use the 4 train (and the 2 train in Brooklyn as needed).
- Express service on the 6 train (in the Bronx) and 7 train (in Queens) will not operate. All trains will operate as local trains.

Service changes due to construction projects (that are done on weekends) are generally suspended on Thanksgiving Day.

Staten Island Railway - Saturday schedule

MetroNorth Railroad and Long Island Railroad - weekend schedules. See the MTA site at Schedules | MTA or get schedules at Grand Central Terminal or NY Penn Station respectively.

NJ Transit - weekend schedule

PATH - weekend schedule

Regular schedules (with minor modifications) will be in effect Friday, November 23.

Enjoy the holiday.

Please note that the day before Thanksgiving is probably the worst day for vehicular traffic in Manhattan. It then becomes a series of gridlock alert days until New Years Eve.
