Those low Hawaii fares are gone - help!!

Saw the low United fares a couple of days ago but wanted to wait to see if American followed them down. Now the fares are back up even higher. What we want is LAX - HNL. Lowest today on Travelocity is $470 (Delta).

We're not going until November (well before Thanksgiving) so should I panic or will the fares go down again nearer the time? Experienced Hawaii travelers, help please!!

I searched Expedia random dates of Nov 3rd to 10th and came up with a $433 fare on ATA. You might want to check other California departures, such as Oakland and SF, for a better deal.

Here's another one: Orbitz quotes Northwest for $413 for the same dates.

Hawaiian Air has low airfares to Maui from the West Coast posted on its web site under Internet Specials - between $350 - $450 RT.

Well, I'm not an exper Haw trav, but am gng to one of the isl @ the first wk in Nov. Live in FL and was able to get RT Orlando to LA on SWest for @ $200 bkg online. My travel agent said I wouldn't be able to get it any cheaper. I "panicked" sort of (on a trip signed up for in 99 rafting in the Grand Canyon) to fly from Orlando to Flagstaff TY and bought ticket for $398 couple of months ago--just on the internet last wk for $238---$l60 diff w/American West---I called and could only get a $60 voucher. Really could have waited longer---going Aug l9. Anyway, for Haw, we're (4-5 gals gng from LA)watching til @ the first wk in Sept bcs we're not sure which island, waiting for timeshare, etc. I'm gng to find out which airlines fly from LA to prob Maui & Oahu and sign up for their internet deals to be emailed to me---that's what I did w/Southwest and found out about the $198/200. Also, if I book four trips online w/Southwest I get free RT ticket.

I've been told Hawaii air fares usually drop in September, so I'd wait a bit if I were you, but check regularly. Early November is not a peak travel time for Hawaii, and there should be some fare sales popping up. Good luck.
