The Wynn Hotel

Just got back from the Wynn hotel in Vegas and would like to report that it is FABULOUS! I can honestly say Steve Wynn stresses SERVICE SERVICE SERVICE at this hotel. The entire hotel has a french feel to it. It was originally supposed to be named Le Reve (the dream) after the famous Picasso painting. There are bright mosaic flowers on the flooring as you enter the resort and gorgeous colorful lanterns hanging from the ceiling. There are also flowers everywhere. The huge waterfall that cascades into a pool of water has statues placed as if they are walking in the water. From the outside of the hotel you basically see only evergreens and juniper trees. You have to actually walk inside of this resort to experience it unlike many of the other resorts in Vegas which have shows outside or some attraction to draw you indoors. The room was just as nice. Very soothing colors...a bed to DIE for. Curtains that open with a remote control that is next to your bed to allow you to see the strip thru windows that are floor to ceiling. Or you can have a view of the gorgeous pools and the golf course. Bathroom and bedroom have HDTV's in them. Marble bathrooms with deep soaking tubs that fill again with a cascading water fall into the tub. The pool area is so chic and again surrounded by fun colors of bright reds, purples and greens. My husband and I ate at the SW steakhouse which was delicious and we met the chef after we finished our dinner. There are numerous other restaurants on the property and they are all different with very impressive chefs. I loved the Bellagio...but Mr Wynn may have topped himself with this one.

icuka,

Did you have a "standard" room? I read that there isn't many bars, is this correct? Did checkin-checkout take a long time?

As far as bars....there is a poolside bar called the CABBANA that is so nice. The hotel itself has a couple bars for nightlife as well. I had a room upgraded to overlooking the Wynn waterfall and the strip. It was very nice. There are also pool and golf course views. The entire ambience of the hotel is fun but elegant. Loved it!!!!!!!!

Just got back from visiting the Wynn last night. To me it's not as homey as the Bellagio. I was expecting Wynn to outdo himself this time but to me the Bellagio is still the nicest casino on the strip. Parts of Wynn are really beautiful such as the restaurants, the waterfall, and the bars/lounges, but the casino was very busy with slot machines. And the layout is also a little strange, and you sometimes have to walk very far to find a restroom. Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful, but the Bellagio is still #1 in my book.

I'm making some plans to hit the Wynn next month. I found a rate of 199.00 per night which seems like a great rate. I heard they closed on Le Bete bar since it wasn't doing well and they plan to remake it. Also I found a kickin site that gives virtual tours of the rooms, pool, and other locations.

The big problem with the Wynn is that it's new, so that all the tourists come in to the lobby just to look at it, making it very crowded. Also, if you are there during a busy time, good luck with the elevators.

I agree that the rooms are lovely--particularly the beds (so comfy) and the bathrooms (huge! with flatscreen TVs!)
