Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel noisy at night?

I'm trying to find a hotel in Hollywood (close to bus and train as we won't be driving) for April 07. Fodor reviews of Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel from 2005 complain of night club noises til 2 AM. Is that still the case? Is it just the weekend?

The Wall Street Journal just had an article about how boutique hotels were losing appeal. One of those they mentioned was the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, where hotel guests couldn't get into the clubs and the pool. It sounds like is it a party scene, and really not very appealing.

Thanks for the review. I don't mind missing out on the pool and the club! On one Fodor thread a local recommended this hotel and the Renaissance. I'm just looking for a hotel with character, the reviews of the Renaissance hotel refer to it as bland. Can anyone confirm the nightclub nearby the Roosevelt?

There's a club inside the Roosevelt called Teddy's. It's somewhat of a celebrity haunt. If you're concerned about noise, I would try to get a room in an upper floor.

We stayed at the Roosevelt in September 2006. Didn't hear any noise over and above what might be expected on a major roadway. However, we did not try to go to the club or the pool so I can't comment on that. We had no complaints.
