Texas Rita

Wanted to send our thoughts and wishes from Edmonton Canada to all Texans that Hurricane Rita dissipates before it reaches the coast (yes I know that I'm dreaming!!), and especially for mrkindallas, who has been posting lately on the Canadian Rocky Mountain forum.

My brother lives in Houston, and I heard today that he is leaving the area with his family and heading north-westward.

Good luck all - and may God bless and protect you!!!

Thank you and bless you. We could use a good cold front from Canada right about now!

Binthair - it's getting really cool here now - leaves have started changing color, and the temps have been almost frosty at night.
I wish that I could send this to you, in exchange for some warmer weather !!!

Good luck and stay safe

P.S. - gas prices in Canada are up there in the stratosphere too

Thank you for your good wishes from Canada, we Texans appreciate it. It won't dissipate altogether, but there's still hope it will slow down and doesn't make landfall as a Cat 5.

This morning the projection map makes it look as if Rita is headed directly for Houston, and scraping New Orleans. Looks huge and scary.

Wonder if there is any way to take the energy from the hurricane and use it to propel vehicles ??
