Visited Olympic Park today and that has been the highlight of our trip!!!!
Met Carl Roepke - The National Luge Master Champion! was on the Olympic Team, etc. and such a nice young man!!!! Is now an Announcer for so many events, including the upcoming Olympics in 2010!!! Greatest exprerience you can imagine! And very educational. Never imagined how they train for the winter sports during the summer months. Also, how they offer free experience/training for the school children. Don't miss the Olympic Park!!!!
Going back tomorrow!

eb,

I'm so glad you enjoyed the Oympic Park. It's really a highlight! A great facility and opportunity to have for the future Olympians!

I did get your e mail. My work week has turned crazy and I'm trying to get ready for my own long weekend. Answer in a few on personal e mail!

Wasn't sure I had his name right until this morning, but want to add that we also met Bob Brown who coached the Jamaican Bobsled Team to victory in 1988! What an honor!

Oops, maybe it's Patrick Brown? He and Carl gave us their autographs but I can't read his signature very well and haven't had time to do as much research as I want. Anyway, wanted to add that we went to the Main Street afterwards and had a drink on the upstairs outdoor balcony at The Side Car - great drinks and service! Then walked across to 350 Main Street Restaurant. Very nice w/beautiful presentation of food, but a little overpriced. Felt money was better spent at our meal at Sundance.

We were there on Friday afternoon. Great place. Definitely noticed a lot of the locals were there - seemed to know each other.
We all discussed the fact that it would be a great place to be during the Winter Olympics...watching it on tv with everybody and having drinks, etc.
Really loved our trip.
