My sons and I are staying at the Howard Johnson Fenway Park to attend a couple of Sox games in August. What is the best way to get from Logan to the hotel? Approximately what would taxi fare be? Is the Rapid Transit a viable option?
Thanks for your help.

Easiest way is to grab a cab....the T is an option, but from the airport it involves shuttle busses, switching lines etc....around $20
if you are going to be using the T during your stay, you can familiarize yourself with it beforehand on their web site, mbta.com - it also has a link to 'plan my trip' or soemthing like that , where you can plug in your starting point and destination and it maps it out for you -
but initially from the airport to your hotel, I think a cab would be easiest, but I have never taken the T from the airport into the city - I ahve taken the water shuttle which then means getting on the T on that end, but just arriving as a visitor- a cab might be best -
but there are many Boston posters here who are very familiar with the T and hopefully one of them can post for you what it would exactly entail taking public transportation if you would prefer that.

There are free massport buses to the Bue line Airport stop. Have a credit card ready to buy 2 Charlie Tickets.
You can use coin, but with machines you never know. A round trip ticket will be 3.40 each.
Blue Line inbound to Government Center(last stop)walk upstaris. Green
line trains B, C, D, to Kenmore Square, walk up Brookline Ave.
Soon Fenway Park will be on your left,
Take a left at Yawkey Way, go 2
blocks and a left on Boylston, 1 block and you are at your Hotel.
Best case scenario Airpot to Hotel-45 minutes.
check out www.mbta.com and you might be able to purchase transit tix ahead of time, always worth it.

I live in that area and a cab from the airport is going to be closer to $30. There's a $6.00 airport toll that jacks up the price. But I think it's the way to go, especially if you're toting luggage.
Thanks, Wyatt, that's probably what I will do. My sons and I get in to Logan at 3:30pm. I want to get to Fenway as soon as possible--this is my sons' first game at that shrine and I want them to soak in all that history and love of Sox baseball.
Again, thanks to you nice people.

you may already be planning this, or not interested, but there is a tour of fenway, which you and your sons might enjoy - the info is on their website for times and days - some really have enjoyed it - walking around the park and seeing it from the press box, etc.
