Short civil rights your Atlanta to Birningham
I have two days Friday & Sat to visit civil rights historical sights starting from Atlanta fri am. I need to drive home to Iowa on Sunday. Was thinking of Montgomery Selma, Birmingham & overnighting in Memphis on sat for 9 hour drive home on Sunday. Too much? Would welcome suggested itineraries

Will you have visited the MLK Center in Atlanta before Friday A.M.? If so, I think you can do it as long as you don't mind long drives.
If not, this is pretty ambitious, but as long as you have to go to Memphis anyway to get home, might as well go to Memphis. The Civil Rights Museum there is probably our favorite.
I'd probably drop one or the other of the centers in Birmingham and Montgomery, and I personally prefer Montgomery and Selma to Birmingham, although you will have to go through Birmingham to get to Memphis no matter what you choose.
If you do go to Montgomery, you might want to stop at Tuskegee Institute on I-85 between Atlanta and Montgomery. While not a civil rights site per se, it is worth a visit.

A friend found the ideas in this link from the Alabama tourist board helpful in planning a visit to the area.
