SFO to Sunnyvale, CA

Does anyone know how to use public transportation to go from SFO to Sunnyvale.
Caltrain?
How do you get from SFO to Caltrain station?
Thanks!

To get to Cal-Train from SFO, you take a BART shuttle one stop to the Millbrae station (which serves both BART and Cal-Train). Buy your Cal-Train ticket at Millbrae and head south.

Thank you! sf7307 It sounds pretty easy. Is there a charge for BART shuttle. Where do you catch it, if you come in on Delta?

sf--I defer to your knowledge of the Penninsula but it was my understanding that SFO-Millbrae only operates after 7pm and on weekends. Am I wrong?

BART runs from SFO to Millbrae all night long. Every 20min, at :04, :24, and :44. Last train is 1:04am. Arrives in Millbrae 5min later, at :09. Same schedule 7 days a week. Fare is $4.00.

CalTrain from Millbrae to Sunnyvale runs until midnight. Limited schedule outside of rush hour, so there may be a wait.

You can take the free AirTrain shuttle to the airport BART station.

I believe Delta uses Terminal 1. From Terminal 3 (UA and AA) it's just as easy to walk to BART.

Again I defer to anyone's more superior knowledge of the Penninsula, BUT the BART website only shows trains going directly to Millbrae from SFO after 7pm (or more accurately 6:57) on weekdays. Before then one apparently has to take the Pittsburg/Bay Point train N one stop to San Bruno and transfer to a south bound train, one stop to Millbrae.

You're right - earlier trains you have to go to San Bruno and then change trains. Personally, I'd just take a taxi from the airport to Millbrae Cal-train, but if $$$ are an issue, you can still get there on BART (SAB, I live here -- I have no reason to TAKE BART from the airport to CalTrain )

Sorry - you are correct. I read the replies quickly and misread it to be an inquiry about after 7pm trains.

It's still a pretty quick connection to Millbrae even if you need to connect at San Bruno - no more than 15min total.

Another possibility -- try the KX bus combined with bus 22.
