HELP! OAK int'l to SF via subway
Im flying into SFO in Aug, however...a friend of mine is now flying into OAK. Can you get to SF on public transport?? any suggestions? would rather be cheap and a subway would be nice but I have no clue about Oakland area. would appreciate it if someone would point me in the right direction or if you have done this before. thanks!!!

Both of you can BART from your respective airports into SF. For you it will be easier because BART picks up right at the Int'l Terminal. Your friend will have to take the airBART shuttle to the BART station.

Depending on the time you can or cannot take subway to SF. The subway is called BART. From the airport go outside to the BART shuttle stop, and at the stop you get a ticket for $2 (have exactly $2 ready). If you're over 65 then you pay the driver 50 cents. Then get a BART ticket at the station, don't remember how much to SF, maybe $3 or $4. Easy and convenient.
Check BART website and OAK airport ground transportation websites for more details. Keep in mind - Bart and shuttle don't run 24/7.
If no BART at the time of arrival, there are shuttles, the cost I beleive $35 before tips. They run 24/7 and deliver you to your hotel door.
