Savannah GA
I am hoping one of the Savannah experts can help me. I am looking for condos that had balconies on River Street, and you entered them from Factors Walk. There were three of them together and each were a little different in floor plans and layouts.
We want to go to Savannah in April 2011 and would like to stay in one of them. I used to be able to find them on one of the Savannah tourists sites, but now I can't. Perhaps they have been sold to individuals?
If anyone knows anything about these I would be grateful for any information on how to contact them.
Thanks

Hi Starrs, I've looked at that and the River Street Inn and they are both good alternatives if I can't find the condos. We always stay on the other side of Bay and then wish we had a balcony to sit on and watch the ships on the river.

I really don't know what/where it was then.
I've stayed in the River Street Inn for years (before their enlargment). The ONLY night I was ever woken up in a hotel room due to outside noise was at the River Street Inn - teen skateboarders outside on the cobblestones.
Maybe the place that you stayed was the section that the River Street Inn added on. It's to the left of the RSI as you face the river.
I'm glad it's not the OHI. I've not heard good things about the maintenance of it, but I do think the East Bay Inn folks own or manage it now.
There's a new fancy place further down overlooking the River -

I just looked at pictures - no balconies
Another new option on Bay is the Staybridge Suites. I LOVED it.

If you really want to stay on the river, the Hyatt has undergone a fairly recent renovation.
And then, there's the Westin IN the river - or actually on the island in the river -

Keep in mind that only a few rooms at the River Street Inn have balconies and they are very narrow. I'm not sure they are big enough for sitting on. Standing maybe

Good luck finding your mystery place. I have no idea (obviously)

Thanks again Starrs,
We have stayed at Staybridge Suites also and loved it. We stayed at what used to be the Days Inn and we've stayed at the Hampton Inn. My very first trip there I stayed at the Downtowner, that was a long time ago.
Looking at a map, these would have been between the Hyatt Regency and the Bohemian. Their entrances were off of Factors Walk. They were three narrow units and all had balconies which faced the river.
PS Lounge talk..The first miner is out. YAY
Thanks for all the links, the River Street Inn is more reasonable than OHI. It will be spring break, but hopefully the loud teenagers will go to Daytona or PCB.

I think you did. I was just looking at the same place but a different site.
http://www.riverstreetcondo.com/
I think it is one of the three, must be that they sold them to individuals and these couple rents theirs out.
