There is a great place for breakfast called The Lighthouse. Tasty Pancakes.

If you want something a little less healthy, go to Hamburgers. Yes, that's what it's called.

Very greasy, but very good.

I'm going to take the Ferry there from SF for lunch and to tour the town, probably on a Friday. Anybody recommend a nice place for lunch other than pancakes and hamburgers?

If you have a car there are a variety of places you can stay around Sausalito(Tiburon,Corte Madera,Mill Valley) You can pick from Howard Johnson's Express in Mill Valley(by the freeway) to the Mill Valley Inn(upscale) to Standard Suites in Corte Madera. If you want to stay in Sausalito try Casa Madrona. What is your price range and what kind of room do you have in mind?

Ok..I just checked room rates for Casa Madrona. They start at $255/noc. It is right in the middle of Sausalito with great views. Sausalito itself can be charming to walk around. If you will have a car I might recommend the Mill Valley Inn. It starts at $155/noc. It is relatively small and yet lovely. It is in downtown Mill Valley which is also quite charming, quaint, upscale(if you are so inclined)and nicely removed from the increased tourism that you will find in Sausalito on the weekend. You are also a 10-15 minute drive max on surface streets from Sausalito.

Places to eat: Spinnakers, Ondine's and Scoma's (which is ironic since I wouldn't recommend it in SF) are all fairly good restaurants overlooking the Bay.

We usually go to Water Street Grille (formerly Houlihan's. It feels less congested than Scoma's. the Lighthouse is our favorite breakfast plact too. the Inn Above Tide would be my first choice if $$ is no object.

You could also stay in SF and take the ferry over to Sausalito. Fisherman's Wharf would be the best area to stay in SF for proximity to the ferries (but not on its own merit).

You can also stay in the Embarcadero area of SF and take ferries from the Ferry Plaza Building. Sausalito would be a nice place to stay for one or two nights, but if you stay is any longer you might like staying in SF instead.

This has nothing to do with your message but... Kindra is not a common name and although this is a long-shot, did you previously live in GA?

If I were you I would stay in Sausalito. Much nicer than staying in SF.
