Luxor
Howdy all!
I will be staying at the Luxor in March and I was wondering if anyone had any info about how the rooms are? I have been told to request a tower room, but to me, if I am staying at the Luxor, I would want to stay in the pyramid.
Any info is appreciated!

just being devil's advocate... if sue searched under luxor she would be limited to information that was posted in the past. by starting a new thread, she may benefit from the knowledge of people who are new to this forum.Sure, point out the previous posts, but don't smack her for starting a new thread!

I see it differently. If Sue starts a new post and returns tomorrow to see the replies, she will only see the responses of the persons who happened to see her question and bothered to reply in that timeframe. By doing a search she will find an archive of opinions, some of which answer her question directly, as well as others which provide related information, such as restaurant quality, prices, etc.

maybe a good suggestion is to recommend that people find an old thread, post to it to bring it to the top and ask if there is any new info out there. that way people who already posted wouldn't be as annoyed?
I wish the site were a little mroe intuitive - I think that the things that annoy most people about the site (other than all of the hostility) can be corrected if it clear to people how to best use the site. Sorry to ramble! Just trying to find a way to make it mroe friendly here.

let me be the first rational person to post an answer
I stayed at the Luxor a year ago...in the tower because the rooms are bigger
the pyramid rooms are probably fine but I was told are smaller and you usually have to wait on the "inclinator" to get to your floor...either way you'll have a good time
see blue man group for sure

I stayed in a pyramid room a couple of years ago. The pyramid rooms have windows that slope (like the side of the pyramid) so I thought the room was really cool. We also had a neat view looking out the front of the building over the Sphinx. Didn't notice any size issue - seemed like a normal hotel room to me with perfectly nice amenties and a neat Egyptian theme - although I have heard that the tower rooms are bigger. Also, the pyramid room does not have a tub - just a very large, nice shower. (So, if a tub is important, you'll want to stay in the tower.) It can be a long walk from the inclinator to your room, depending on your room location, but I really didn't notice a long wait for the inclinator. The other neat thing is that the pyramid atrium is open, so as you walk to your room, you just have a half-height wall on one side & you can look down on the casino area or up to the peak of the pyramid.
Overall, I think Luxor is a nice hotel and I'm sure you'll have a great time whichever type of room you stay in.

I recommend the tower rooms. I have had friends who have stayed at Luxor and I have seen both types of rooms. I was really impressed with the large marble bathrooms and separate tub and shower in the tower rooms. Also, the inclinators move too slowly, and I found the wait to be frustrating.
If you want to view the atrium from above, just show your room key and ride an inclinator to the top. You don't have to have a room in the pyramid (necessarily)to go up - just a room key.

HI,Stayed @ Luxor last June in the pyramid and it was great. FYI the 10th floor of the pyrimid has tub/shower combo. Thaht's the floor we stayed on.Had a nice room overlooking the pool. I think it is much closer to the casino to stay in the pyramid then the towers. It is a walk from the casino. Also as far as the inclinators go they are no slower rhan an elevator thats crowed. We are going back to Luxor in Feb and will stay in the pyramid again...why go to luxor if you don"t stay in the pyrimid, isn't that the draw? Have a great time whereever you stay!

We stayed at the Luxor and had a pyramid room. Thought the whole concept for great. Like someone said, If you stay at the Luxor, stay in the pyramid!! Felt the walk down the strip was too long from the Luxor and decided to stay at Paris when we returned to Vegas. Didn't like the fact that at the Luxor you had to walk thru the casino to get to the spa/pool area unless we just didn't know how to avoid the casino. The pool at Paris was much more convenient to get to from our room. We will be back in Las Vegas in March also, but we plan to stay with relatives and hike Red Rock Canyon and Valley of Fire. If you get tired of all the gambling, eating, etc., keep Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area in mind. That is, if you like the outdoors............beautiful!!! I think there are bus tours that go to the Red Rock Canyon area.

Inclinator is like an elevator, except it travels at an angle (the angle of the pyramid wall). It didn't really seem any different than a regular elevator to me, but some people seem to be able to 'feel' that they are traveling at an angle & up, instead of just straight up...

We stayed in a tower room in the Luxor in January and it was great. For more info see my 'Countrymouse in sin city' report further down the postings. I'm sure you'll have a super time whichever rooms you choose as it's a lovely hotel.
Have fun.
