San Francisco or Oakland Zoo

Is there any appreciable difference between these two zoos? Is one Better than the other?

Any advice as to which one would be best to visit (if at all).

Thanks!

It's been a long time since I've been to either, but San Francisco zoo was better than Oakland.

Hello Danimal, like sharon62 it has been a long time since I have been to either zoo also but I would say the SF zoo is no doubt the better zoo to visit. I over the years however have gotten turned off by zoo's but that is just my thinking.

SF Zoo is much bigger more major city type whereas Oakland is smaller, sort of small town like.

I'm sure others will disagree and find Oakland more cozy...

But in the end they're zoos, why even go? BTW, I really don't need an answer to my question.

I feel about zoos (in general) exactly like LoveItaly, but in the past I have been to many. The San Francisco zoo simply does not hold a candle to other zoos - San Diego, Omaha, etc. Also, it can be freezing out there, as it's near the ocean and often totally foggy.
