San Francisco airport hotel

Does anyone happen to know which the best, most quiet hotel would be? Thanks in advance.

Hotel or motel? I've never heard of noise complaints about the airport hotels, but the Hyatt Regency and the Clarion do abut the freeway, whereas the Westin, Marriott, Embassy Suites and others are set back a little.

We recently stayed at the Marriott which is one of the closest hotels to the terminals; I think the Hampton Inn and the Westin are a little closer.

A lot of them are situated along a main road but ours was totally quiet.

We stayed there because the place seemed to get slightly better ratings than the Hyatt which is further away.

They all seem to have free shuttle service to and from the airport itself.

The Marriott was undergoing lobby renovations so we got a cheaper rate.

Keep in mind that "further away" in this case means about half a mile.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites at the Airport a few years back. Very nice. As typical, they had free evening cocktails/snacks and breakfast. We couldn't hear any noise from the airport.

Thank you. Sounds as if they'd all be quiet (which surprises and pleases me). I will check prices.

Be sure to take advantage of the free 10-minute shuttle to and from Burlingame. Burlingame Avenue, the main street of a lovely village, is fun for relaxing shopping, walking, eating, coffee, etc. -- a nice break from SF's hustle and bustle. Besides, there's nothing to do at the airport hotels!

My daughter has stayed at both the Sheraton and Hyatt and didn't complain about the freeway noise. She did say that she liked her stay at the Sheraton better.

There is a really nice walk (paved path) along the bay behind the airport hotels.

I like the Marriott the best. Some of the rooms have great views of the Bay and the East Bay hills.
