BEST San Francisco Airport Hotel

Staying 1 night near the San Francisco Airport, looking for a really nice upscale hotel with great beds. Maybe the Marriott, Westin, Hyatt, or Sheraton? Not a big fan of Embassy Suite rooms, sometimes they are tired and worn looking. Looking for something with a nice busy lobby to hang out in, and possibly a really nice indoor pool? Noise is not a problem if near the runway.

Thanks!

I always enjoy staying at the Marriott - it's very quiet, has a nice walking path with great views, a Starbucks inside and a Hertz counter. Lobby is quite big!!

The Hyatt is by far the nicest at SFO. It is the newest, too. I would assume the amenities are also the most up to date.

Actually, I think the Westin became a Westin after the Hyatt Regency was built. But the Westin building existed before, only operated as a Clarion Hotel (I assume it was remodeled when it was rebadged).

I agree with Kevin. The Hyatt is my favorite. Big, beautiful atrium lobby.

The Hyatt is nice. The Marriott is nice. In general, I prefer Marriott beds to Hyatt beds (not at these particular hotels, but chain-to-chain). Also, note that the Marriott is on the bay side of the road, so you can get a view room if that matters to you.

Does anyone know if the Hyatt rooms that face the freeway are quiet?

I like the rooms at the Marriott that face the bay.

sf7307, the Hyatt's freeway-facing rooms are pretty quiet but I think it is worth the little extra ($20, I think) for a Bay-facing room.

Everyone else -

There's a great review of the best SFO airport hotels, including a comparison of the Westin, Hyatt & Marriott at:
