Hotel at/near San Francisco Airport

Hotel New Year's Eve at/near San Francisco airport? We are flying home to Connecticut on Jan 1, 2010 and thought it well to be near the airport that morning - forgetting that most hotels will be crowded with revelers! Any suggestions for senior citizens who would like to sleep that night?

For staying near the airport, we love the Comfort Inn and Suites on San Bruno Ave (the rental car return road). http://www.comfortinn.com/hotel-san_...lifornia-CA850

Great rooms and 3 minutes from the airport.

If you want a more upscale place, check out the Hyatt Regency at the airport. With
AAA or other discounts they are giving good rates.

The Hyatt, though, is the kind of hotel that has a self-described "New Year's Eve bash" -- no idea if that makes it difficult to sleep upstairs!

Windsorite, there are a number of upscale hotels near the airport (Marriott, Crowne Plaza, Hyatt Regency, Westin), and a lot of other choices too -- look on hotels.com or something similar -- the hotels are either on Bayshore Blvd or El Camino Real (In South San Francisco, San Bruno, Millbrae or Burlingame). In any case, you'll need to take a shuttle or taxi to the airport, but it's very close. There are also a few choices north of the airport. All are close.

This is a frequent question on this board and you can get good info by doing a search here.

My favorite spot is the Marriott at the airport on Bayshore Highway. It is close enough to watch the airplanes come and go, yet far enough away to be quite quiet. There is a walking path along the waterfront just outside of the hotel and several restaurants are walkable. I usually drop off my Hertz rental right at the hotel which is pretty convenient. The hotel has a free shuttle to the airport. Rooms are very quiet!
