Roosevelt Hotel or Alexis Hotel

I'm looking to hear from people who have stayed at the Roosevelt Hotel or the Alexis Hotel. My husband & I will be in Seattle for one week in October & are considering both hotels.

Alexis is in a different class than the Roosevelt (as in way nicer.) No brainer.

Agree. Alexis is the "nicer" by far, but the Roosevelt is serviceable (I have sent out-of-towners there and they thought it was fine for the price).

The only thing the Roosevelt has going for it over the Alexix is it's location--it's nearer shopping (Nordstroms, etc.), movie theaters, etc.

If you can do with having just one bed in the room, you might want to look at priceline. Check out the website biddingfortravel.com. They have a lot of good info!

Our first choice is the Alexis, but I've read some reviews that say it's like being in a museum - scared to touch anything, cold not cozy, etc.

I didn't find it that fancy. I've not stayed there myself, but visited a friend from out of town who had a room there. It's very nice, but not THAT nice (enough to be intimidating) IMO.
