In Vail:
Pozzo's Pizza (cheap)
Los Amigos (cheap but good Mexican)
Bully Ranch (mid-range, Sonnenalp Hotel)
Bottega... something (Italian)
Sweet Basil (splurge!)
Tyrolia (wild game food and decor)

In Lionshead:
Bart & Yeti's (cheap but very good)
Montauk (seafood, a bit pricey)

If you have a car, there are many good-deal restaurants in Edwards.

Red Lion is also good for burgers, nachos and apres ski drinks. Ore House for red meat. Lancelot is also good but rather on the expensive side. Let us know if you have a car. Lot's of choices in Minturn, Edwards, Eagle-Vail, etc.

Blu's in Vail Village has a great menu with reasonable prices and a beautiful view of Gore Creek.

For a breathtaking dinner take a carrage ride to Beanos Cabin, it's expensive but incredible and lots of wildlife to see.

I agree with Paige that Red Lion is one of our favorites and Ore House. If you go by 5:30 the meal is less expensive. Vendenta's Italian has great pizza and pastas. You can also drive to Edwards and go to Gashouse and antoher place that recently opened but can't recall the name. Blu's is alright but not my favorite anymore. The kids will like Red Lion the best and Pazzo's has good pizza and a great breakfast. you'll have a blast, it's our favorite place to go.

Wow, how could I forget Blu's? Great mid-range prices and diverse menu... But as vkb2 isn't fond of Blu's, I'm not fond of the Red Lion. Last time there (granted, a couple of years ago), husband's pasta with sausage and peppers had no sausage whatsoever. Response to our complaint was ho-hum, shrugged shoulders. And a warning, the Red Lion bar is very popular. The later you go, the drunker they are.
