They're not open yet. If I were you, I'd think about a backup plan.

Thanks, I guess will have to come up with plan "B". Wouldn't they just put you in their sister resort Casa Marina, wich is opened ?

Casa Marina isn't finished either. I did ask on tripadvisor and someone who'd toured the Reach last week said it looked as though it would take some time to complete.

I might just add that the owners of Casa Marina and the Reach have not been particularly forthcoming about the status of renovations.

I've seen absolutely horrible reviews from people who planned weddings at the Casa Marina and arrived in Key West to see closed swimming pools, the landscaping dug up, the lobby in disrepair, etc., etc.

For that reason, I'm not sure I'd rely on what they tell you on the phone. In my opinion, they should've closed Casa Marina like they did the Reach rather than risk offending so many people.

Susan, thank you for the information. I will relate the info to enother couple we are going with, and start to look for a back up plan. How is Westin or Hyatt, anything else you can recommend for a full service resort near all the action? Thanks

The Westin and the Hyatt on Front Street (there are other Hyatt properties) are good options. They are both much better than the Reach or Casa Marina.

I've stayed at the Hyatt several times before the renovations and loved it. Apparently, it's nicer now.

Ditto the Westin. I'd feel very comfortable reserving rooms at either place, and think they both are in better locations than the Reach or Casa Marina.

I love Key West! Hope things work out well for you...

Let me add another option that's probably better than the Westin, though I've never stayed at the Westin. It's the Ocean Key Resort, which is just next door. It's really a nice place and in addition to the regular rooms, they have junior suites with fully-equipped kitchens. oceankey.com
