Take a look at www.hotelkingdom.com
Unlike some of the other booking companies, you don't have to "pre-pay".
Read the "About" tab on the website.
Lots of hotels to choose from.

Just a note:
biddingfortravel.com is nothing more than a "primer" for how to bid on Priceline...It is good, and gives you an idea of the what "deals" you can get. (I have used Priceline and biddingfortravel). Also, you must "pre-pay"; and read the cancellation policies.

I just booked rooms in Nashville right downtown at the Courtyard Marriott for $134.00 a night. It gets good ratings online ....had them at the Best Western but was warned off and when i read the ratings online...tripadvisor.com....I changed them. Couldnt find anyone who said good things about it.

Dear Geraldine -- I would check Travelocity or Orbitz. That gives you a general idea of many room rates around the city, and you can use that as a starting point to go to hotel's websites after that.
For safety's sake, you will want to avoid any places on Dickerson Road or Pike, Trinity Lane or Murfreesboro Road (unless it's Murfreesboro Road out near the airport which is better). Nashville has many lower priced chain hotels such as Comfort Inn, Motel 6, La Quinta and others.
Yes, you can canoe and waterski here. There are several big lakes nearby where boating and waterskiing are popular (Old Hickory Lake, Percy Priest Lake) Canoeing can be done on the scenic Harpeth River west of town or on Radnor lake within town.
