Weekend getaway

I want to send my parents away for the weekend for their 30th anniversary. My sisters and brother want to do something kind-of cheap, but nice and somewhere they can drive - my mom's not a big fan of flying. Any suggestions? We're in KC.

My Phila native sister, her SFO native H and we vagabonds flew my parents first class to Dallas (from Phila) for their 50th in Oct 1990.
We had the event at the Mansion in Dallas. Even my stingy, negative mom was mucho impressed.
They're both gone now, but no one forgets the wonderful weekend.
Live well and long!

How about the panhandle of Florida like Seaside?

A fall weekend at the Amana Colonies in eastern Iowa should be fun. B&Bs, fine food, crafts, wineries. We are just coming intot the best time of year, there.
