Please help... staying in Philly for one night
Hi All-
I will be staying in Philadelphia for one night. I've never been nor do I know anything about it. Can someone please recommend a decent hotel to stay in? Thank you!

Have stayed at at least three of the motels near the airport and they are all just fine -- and VERY convenient to continuing your journey the next morning. However, driving from there into the city to sight-see isn't all that convenient -- you have to get back on the interstate and do some fancy dancing either to get to midtown or Society Hill/Independence area. However, depending on your time and the hotel's facilities, you can get into midtown by public transport if you can get a van to the airport, take the R3 train (which runs through the airport) into 30th st. and take it from there on foot, by bus, or by cab.

Do you want to stay in the city or out in the suburb? Here are the differences
City:
hotels more expensive
parking is about $20
not "right off the highway", esp if you drive in/out during rush hour
BUT, lots more to do when you're in the city, restaurants, shops etc.
Suburb:
the reverse of the above
If you decide to stay in the suburbs, tell us which direction you are coming from so that we can recommend the "right" neighborhood for you.
For $200/night, you can stay at nice hotels inside the city.
