Please Help...Marriott Ko Olina Beach Club
My family and I will be traveling to Oahu in September 2006. We would like to spend part of our time on Oahu at the Marriott Ko Olina Beach Club. I understand that there will be construction going on there for the next few years.
Has anyone stayed there recently? What did you like, not like? Is the construction noise just too much? Are the restaurants and kids programs onsite or do you need to go to the JW Marriott property next door.
Thank You for any and all help!

Lucky you, staying at the Ko'Olina Beach Club!! We own a TS there, and it's our most favorite place.
There is a kids' program on-site.
I replied to your other post that the construction noise should be minimal. It didn't bother us at all last April.
There is a moderately priced bar/grill on-site which has a gorgeous view of lagoon #3. Be sure to catch a sunset from a table here!
The Ihilani has 5 restaurants, but all pretty pricey, though all very good, too. I do highly recommend the seafood buffet on Saturday nights at the Napauka Terrace restaurant. Not cheap ($42 per person), but soooo worth it. My husband grumbled a bit about the price (this after 3 nights of other pricey meals), but then exclaimed afterwards that we are going to that buffet from now on every time we're there. LOL Afterwards you can take the beautiful 15 min walk back to the Beach Club on the lighted walkway that runs along the beach.
Also try Roy's at the Ko'Olina golf course. The food is consistently excellent and they have some of the best service we've ever experienced.
For more economical places to eat, you can drive to the town of Kapolei, which is about 2 miles up H1 east. (You'll pass it on your way to the Beach Club.) There you will find fast food restaurants, Chili's, Outback Steakhouse, sushi, etc., as well as a Safeway and Long's. A good placce to try there is En Fuego. Very yummy and cheap.
As far as what we love about the place, the lagoons are at the top of our list. Simply beautiful. And so nice and safe to swim in. The service at the Beach Club has been wonderful all 4 times we've been. Truly friendly workers who seem happy to be there.
Enjoy!!!

Thank You for the helpful info. So glad to hear the construction isn't that big of an issue. I was wondering, since your are an owner there, if you might be able to tell me a good website or two where I might be able to rent from an owner directly. I have been checking periodically on a few sites but thought if you had some "inside info" that would be great.
Thanks again for your help, I really appreciate it.

I don't know anything about the resort in question but the best place to rent from an owner that I've found is.... www.vrbo.com - I've used them for Kauai, BI, Colorado and Canada.
